Primetime stars Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen, the host of Dateline NBC's To Catch a Predator, the mid-2000s sting show where adult decoys posing as teenagers lured men to a suburban house and Hansen strolled out to confront them on camera. It was a ratings sensation in the US, and the format now thrives on TikTok, where predator-hunting videos do enormous numbers. Lance Oppenheim, making his narrative feature debut, picks Hansen up at the show's peak, as his appetite for ratings drives his crew towards increasingly risky scenarios in order to please his audience. It's a gripping thriller with a real horror streak underneath. The film world premiered in competition at Venice International Film Festival to much acclaim and career best reviews for Pattinson, with Phoebe Bridgers also making her acting debut.
