In this Lunchtime Talk, Thomasin Cuthbert Menes from Soap Soup Arts shares her experience of ducking and diving through the precariousness of the creative sector. Tomasin will share her experiences of ducking and diving as challenges are thrown at her over the last decade, including becoming a Mum and moving out of Bristol to attempt living out in the sticks. Currently it feels like a very hard time to be a creative, funding is almost non-existent, audiences have left live art spaces in waves, and politics has stripped the arts from our schools - not to mention Brexit, COVID, and the rise of AI. This talk will discuss how can we as creatives thrive in the current climate.
