Workshop
Tutor: Rhi Jarman
Date: Saturday 30th January
Time: 10am - 4pm
Join ceramic artist, Rhi Jarman, to create your own mushroom decorations using porcelain paper clay.
In this workshop, you will hand build and decorate a hanging mushroom bell decoration and a mushroom ring dish/jewellery holder. Rhi will demonstrate a variety of techniques including pinching, hollowing, sculpting, and how to use porcelain paper clay to create fine natural textures. You will also have the opportunity to add colour using underglazes and oxides.
Your final two pieces can be optionally glazed following the workshop, prior to stoneware firing.
You may wish to bring your own sketch book and reference materials (though not essential).
Who it’s for:
The workshop is suitable for complete beginners, or for novice or intermediate potters to gain confidence with new materials and techniques.
What you will need:
Please bring an apron or wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!
Please remove jewellery and tie hair back.
All materials are included.
Please bring your own sketch book and reference images if you wish, but this is not required.
After the session, you will be able to have 2 pieces glazed and fired. This process can take up to 6 weeks. You will be contacted via email when your pots are ready to collect.
This session is for adults only.
Please read through our Terms and Conditions, which include information regarding cancellations and refunds, before booking.
