Pinch, Coil & Sgraffito

In this full-day workshop you will learn how to pinch, coil and sculpt your own unique form, which could be a mug, bowl or vase. Your tutor Pascale will teach you the hand building techniques needed to transform a ball of clay into a functional or sculptural piece. These techniques will help you to understand the feel and structure of clay, and are a great starting point for more complex forms. In the second part of this workshop you will learn how to use coloured slips to add surface decoration to your piece. Pascale will introduce sgraffito and stencilling techniques, allowing you to add bold colour, pattern, and illustration to your piece. Your piece will be glazed and fired by our technicians after the workshop. This session is for adults only. What’s included?
