Workshop
This course is aimed at improvers looking to build on previous experience with hand building to create more ambitious pieces. It will allow you to develop your sculpting and decorative techniques to designs of your choosing, as well as recapping some fundamentals. You will come away with three beautiful and unique pieces, each with a different technical focus. In this course we will be building on fundamental hand building techniques to create more ambitious forms. This will include slab building, coil building, and pinching. Each piece you create will also act as a surface for different decorative techniques, including the use of slips, sgraffito, carving, and glazing. There will be a range of stoneware glazes on offer for you to use during the course, and you will come away with an understanding of how clays, slips, glazes and kiln firings interact with one another. All materials and kiln firings are included.
