Workshop
Learn how to use a 5x4 large format camera. The negatives are 5x4 inches (approx 12.5x10cm) and give very high quality analogue photographs, which can be printed in the Folk House darkroom. The workshop will cover the operation of the camera, including the camera's tilt and shift movements which are used to control the focus, shape and perspective of the image. The kind of things the camera movements can achieve are straightening of converging perspective lines, staying out of frame when photographing a reflective surface and controlling depth of field. We will use paper negatives for speed of processing and maximising time with the camera, and will also look at how sheet film would be processed. Please note: Fairly bulky equipment will need to be carried short distances. This workshop is suitable for all abilities.
