Workshop

If you are new to making pottery, this course will provide you with a well-rounded and comprehensive introduction to the craft of pottery. Through directed projects, you will learn the foundational skills of coiling, pinching, moulding, and slab construction while exploring different types of clay bodies, slip decoration techniques and the glazing process. During the course you will also have a 4-week introduction to the ancient and mindful craft of throwing on the potters wheel, supported with expert guidance on how to make basic shapes such as cylinders and bowls, and add foot rings and surface texture. By the end of the course, you will have a diverse range of unique pots to take home as well as a useful understanding of clay mechanics to enable you to continue on your pottery journey.
