5 Week Throwing Course - Daytime

Our Thursday morning 5 week beginners throwing on the wheel course! Perfect for the ultimate beginner or throwing improver. Our 5 week throwing course taught by Gaby is a great introduction to working with clay for total beginners or intermediate on the wheel. This course includes learning different techniques such as centering, shaping, pulling and working with different tools to create a variety of different forms. You will also learn different glazing techniques using colourful underglaze and glazes in the final week of this course. By the end of the course you will have a selection of beautiful thrown ceramics to take home with you. Week 1: Mug week - learning how to centre and throw cylinders. Week 2: Turning/Trimming the pots from the previous week, learning how to turn foot rings and adding handles. Week 3: Bowl Week - throwing with larger amounts of clay and learning how to throw bowls. Week 4: Turning/Trimming bowls from the previous week & experimenting with texture and carving. -----Break week for firing pots---- Week 5: Glaze week - experimenting with glazing all your beautiful pots with brush on reactive glazes and underglazes for more illustrative designs. **Please note - there is a week's break in-between week 4 and 5 to allow for pieces to be fired.** Very important to have trimmed nails. Please be aware we do not offer makeup sessions for missed classes. If you cannot attend the glaze session (week 5) you can book onto one of our 'Come Back & Glaze' 2 hour slots to catch up within the same month.
