Stone Lithography Summer School (Week 1 only)

A five-day focus on stone lithography for artists with some previous experience. Participants have 24-hour studio access. This five-day format allows for more in depth development of images, ideas, to test out new techniques and build skills. Suitable for artists with some previous experience of lithographic printmaking. Each participant will be able to make their own prints during the week and will have the opportunity for individual tutor time to discuss a way forward with their work. Learn about drawing, etching and printing traditional German limestone, as well as an introduction to using marble and welsh limestone as well more advanced image making techniques such as lo - shu and maniere noire. Lemonade Press has also developed a non-toxic alternative to asphaltum which is in use in the studio. Get the chance to practice and experiment with this wonderfully expressive process under the guidance of experienced tutors. Students will have 24 hour access to the studio and some materials will be available for purchase directly. The idea is that participants are able to put the acquired knowledge into practice independently once the instruction hours are over. Accommodation, food and travel are not included in the course cost.
