Pottery: Throwing and Turning Taster

Have you always wanted to try using the potter's wheel? This is a great chance to see how it is for you. Join us for a morning learning the ancient art of throwing on the wheel with expert guidance on how to centre, draw up and collar in to make cylinders and bowls. In the afternoon you will be shown the techniques of trimming and turning to refine your pots. You will receive a clear demonstration from your tutor before you sit at your own wheel to be guided through the process. You will select your three best pots which your tutor will glaze and fire, ready for you to collect later in the term. Beginners and Improvers are welcome.
