Thursday morning Pottery Wheel Course (7 weeks)

Come to Bristol Pottery Workshops for a pottery throwing course! Fun, hands-on pottery classes focused on throwing on the potters wheel. Fancy trying out a short Pottery course that will help you discover if Pottery is for you without the expense or commitment of a full term course? This taster course could be exactly the thing for you! You will learn the steps of throwing on the potters wheel to make bowls, mugs and more from start to finish - centring, pulling up walls and shaping the clay. Then you will refine the shapes that you make with a trimming technique known as turning. We have a wonderful selection of glazes to enable you to put the finishing touches to your work. Suitable for: All levels of ability. Perfect if you are new to pottery or to see if you want to try out pottery again! What's Included: - Your own potters wheel - A wide selection of tools to use - Unlimited clay, only keep what you want, we recycle any items that you don't want to keep. - Lots of guidance for beginners or less if you want space for creative freedom. - A wide selection of glazes made in-house. Sustainable Practice: At Bristol Pottery Workshops we prioritise sustainability! You can recycle clay an unlimited amount of times before it's fired, and so we charge for items separately to make sure that pots don't get left behind! Items are priced at £16 per kg (as some students make larger items than others) to cover our materials, firing and processing costs.
