This online course combines the close reading of excellent poetry with opportunities to write and share your own. Each week we will explore a poem-some familiar, some unexpected-and consider what it can teach us about technique, voice, and possibility. You will be encouraged to try out different forms, take risks, and stretch your sense of what a poem can be. As well as writing exercises and group discussion, there will be space to share work (always optional) and to learn from poets past and present. After all, we all stand on the shoulders of giants. By the end of the course, you will have read widely, experimented with new approaches, and developed fresh skills to enrich your poetry.
