Marika Hackman brings her distinctive vocals and intricate songwriting to Bristol Beacon, with music that pairs candid, introspective lyrics with a knack for unexpected arrangements. Her fifth album, False Dogs, finds her reflecting on growing older, grief, love and the gap between the life we imagine and the one we live. Written, produced and arranged by Hackman herself, the largely acoustic record features playful percussion, mandolin, piano and rich vocal layers. Moving between moments of unease and everyday beauty, False Dogs sees Hackman at her most assured, with songs that feel deeply personal and refreshingly unguarded. Plus special guests.
