Join Bristol's acclaimed chamber choir, Exultate Singers, for a captivating musical journey around the five countries of the British Isles. This richly varied programme pairs grand choral masterpieces from the past with lyrical contemporary works and beautifully crafted arrangements of traditional songs from the British Isles, including music from the Isle of Man and the Scilly Isles. The centrepiece of the concert is Thomas Tallis' extraordinary and spellbinding motet in 40 parts, Spem in Alium, sung around the balconies of St George's Bristol, enveloping audience members in a surround sound experience. Other highlights include the setting of Ubi caritas by the Welsh composer Paul Mealor, written for the marriage of the Prince and Princess of Wales in 2011, and a vibrant setting of the popular Irish tune, Star of the County Down. Experience the unique character, culture, and spirit of each nation brought vividly to life through exceptional choral music.
