5 Week Screenprinting on FABRIC (Repeat Pattern)

Discover the creative possibilities of repeat pattern and learn how to screen print your own design onto fabric in this 5 week course with textile printmaker Hannah Kelly. This hands-on workshop focuses on designing and printing a repeat spot pattern for fabric. You'll be guided through the full process -- from developing an idea or theme, to creating a repeat design, preparing a screen, and printing onto fabric using professional screen printing techniques. You'll learn how to: Translate your ideas into a repeat spot design, Design a simple repeat pattern by hand and using Photoshop, Prepare a screen for printing, Create a stencil using photographic screen printing processes, Print confidently onto fabric. By the end of the course, you will have printed a 40cm x 140cm length of fabric to take home -- perfect for making a cushion, lampshade, bag, or other small textile project. You're encouraged to bring your own ideas, imagery, or a theme to work from. Whether you're new to screen printing or looking to build on existing skills, Hannah will support you step by step through the process. Hannah Kelly has worked in industry and has 20 years experience teaching art & design. She has an MA in Multi-Disciplinary Print from UWE.
