Workshop
CPD, Education. Our Sustain session supports teachers and school leaders to maintain and continually strengthen high-quality music provision over time. Combining curriculum leadership, teacher development and meaningful assessment, this session explores how to monitor implementation, recognise pupils' musical progress and continually strengthen teaching and learning across your school. Using practical examples and real school scenarios, you'll explore sustainable approaches to monitoring that celebrate pupils' musical development without creating unnecessary workload. You'll consider how classroom observations, pupil outcomes and practical evidence can be used to inform curriculum development, support colleagues and ensure music continues to thrive across your setting. By the end of the session, you'll have the knowledge, strategies and practical tools to monitor curriculum impact, support staff development and sustain ambitious, high-quality music provision for every pupil. You will also learn: - How formative assessment, including effective 'stop and fix' approaches, can inform teaching and support pupils' musical development in the moment. - When and how to gather meaningful evidence of musical learning, including practical uses of audio and video, without creating unnecessary workload. - How to use monitoring and professional dialogue to support colleagues and enhance classroom practice.
