Joe Yorke, Bristol-based singer, songwriter and composer whose music draws from across the full spectrum of reggae culture, blending roots, rocksteady, dub and soul with post-punk, new wave and Northern Soul influences. Originally from the North West of England, Yorke first fell in love with music through punk, folk and reggae before immersing himself in Manchester's soundsystem scene. Over the past decade, he has built a reputation as one of the UK's most distinctive reggae voices, releasing a string of acclaimed albums and collaborating with artists including Stand High Patrol, L'Entourloop, O.B.F and Gentleman's Dub Club. His music has found devoted audiences on dancefloors, festival stages and soundsystems across the world. Never confined by genre, Yorke's songwriting continues to evolve. His latest album, Shallow Fantasies, channels a distinctly British sound, weaving together echoes of 1960s pop, Manchester's post-punk legacy and shadowy guitar-driven atmospheres into a rich and deeply personal collection of songs.
