Paul Lewis returns to St George's for the second of his four concerts exploring the piano sonatas of Mozart. This will be an expansive, brilliantly engaging exploration of this rich corner of the piano repertoire. The next two concerts take place across 2027 and there are discounted series tickets available. Programme: Mozart Piano Sonata No 17 in B flat K570, Schubert 3 Klavierstücke D946, Chopin Polonaise for piano No 1 in C sharp minor Op 26/1, Chopin Nocturnes Op 32, Mozart Piano Sonata No 13 in B flat K333. "For many years I've wanted to spend some time focusing on Mozart's piano sonatas and have long felt sceptical of the broadly held view that these remarkable works are the poor siblings of his piano concertos - less original, inspired, and engaging than their symphonic counterparts. This series aims to challenge that idea by juxtaposing the many facets of this rich corner of the piano repertoire with works by other composers, presenting both contrasts with and, perhaps less obviously, connections to Mozart's piano writing." _Paul Lewis_
