Wm Paul Young: Return to the Shack
Join internationally bestselling author Wm. Paul Young for a special spoken-word presentation exploring the powerful themes behind his long-awaited new novel, Return to the Shack: A Journey into Redemption. Best known as the author of The Shack, the global publishing phenomenon that has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, Young returns to the story of Mackenzie Allen Phillips ten years after the devastating events that changed his life. In Return to the Shack, Mack continues to live with the consequences of profound loss, as grief reaches into his family, relationships, faith and sense of identity. The novel asks searching questions about how life can continue after irreparable pain, whether redemption is possible, and what it means to confront those we fear or struggle to forgive. Through an engaging and deeply personal spoken-word presentation, Young will reflect on the human experiences at the heart of the book: trauma, forgiveness, suffering, hope and the possibility of transformation. The evening also includes a VIP question-and-answer session, offering audiences an opportunity to discuss directly with the author about the origins of the story, and the spiritual and emotional questions that continue to shape his writing. Wm. Paul Young was born in Canada and spent much of his childhood among the Dani people in the highlands of former New Guinea, where his missionary parents served. After experiencing profound loss in childhood and young adulthood, he drew on his own journey through pain, shame, brokenness and faith when writing The Shack originally as a gift for his six children. He is also the author of the bestselling novels Cross Roads and Eve, as well as Lies We Believe About God. “Return to the Shack is one of the great soul adventures of our age. Read it and you will be transformed.” Bear Grylls “Medicine for the soul.” Wynona Judd “Intense and deeply moving.” Felicia Murrell “Powerful and timely.” Andre Agassi
