Sunday Services

We meet each Sunday from 10.45am until approximately 12 noon. Our aim is to always welcome you. Worship We believe worship is important, using a wide variety of hymns and songs to express our faith. The words are projected onto a screen at the front of church. We also have hymn books available (including a braille copy). Our music group includes piano, guitar and flute The Bible The talk is approximately 20 minutes, based on a Bible passage. It is lead by one of our church members or an invited speaker. Occasionally we use You Tube clips or PowerPoints to illustrate our point. The reading and preaching of God's Word is a vital part of our worship. Some of us choose to follow the Bible passage, using a physical copy or an app on our phone. Others prefer to sit back and listen. We have Bibles available - please just ask for a copy. Sunday Crew We have an interactive talk for our 'Sunday Crew' but the adults love listening and learning from this too! Following the talk our ‘Sunday Crew’, go downstairs to the ‘School Room’ for their own session. They meet us back in the main worship space at the end. Prayer Time As a church we believe that God is interested in all our lives and that when we pray, He listens and can change situations. We use the prayer time to pray for local and global situations. People pray in silence or out loud as they prefer. If there is a situation that you would like prayer for, please email us with as little or as much information as you feel comfortable sharing. A member of the Leadership Team will pick up your email and share with the church in the service. Communion We take ‘communion’ on the first Sunday of each month. Communion is a time when we remember how Jesus died on the cross for us and rose again. It involves us sharing bread and wine (grape juice) to symbolise the body and blood of Jesus. Missionary Updates We receive regular updates from Rachel and Julio working out in Guatemala. Refreshments We serve refreshments in the main worship space after the service. Everybody is welcome Cafe Style Church This style of service takes place intermittently throughout the year with worship songs, craft activities and a short talk from the Bible. It is often placed to mark a special occasion or help us celebrate one of the Christian festivals. The main worship space is arranged in the style of a cafe, with everyone sitting in groups around the tables. Tea, coffee and cake are served throughout. The ‘Sunday Crew’ stay for the entire time. Themed Services In addition to our celebrations at Christmas and Easter, we have 'themed' services throughout the year. These include 'Chapel Anniversary', 'Harvest', 'Missionary Sunday' and ‘Ladies Day’. Donating to the Food Bank We collect items to donate to the Foodbank at St Pauls Church, Coronation Road, Southville BS3 1AS. People leave these at the front of church, by the piano
