A fresh retelling of Bram Stoker's much loved Gothic novel in the iconic setting of Bristol's The Mount Without. When Jonathan Harker goes on a business trip to Transylvania, he thinks it will be a routine real estate deal. But his client is Count Dracula - a man, ruthless in life, who is pitilessly sadistic as a member of the undead. He imprisons Jonathan in his castle along with his Vampire Brides and makes no secret of his intention to prey upon the young man's beloved fiancée, Mina. Back home in England, under the directorship of the mysterious Professor Van Helsing, a small group prepare to take on this threat, to resist the influence of this most pernicious evil. Shipwrecks and Dreams Productions have gathered a truly exciting cast and crew of South West based creatives to tell Bram Stoker's timeless horror story in the beautifully iconic setting of The Mount Without, here in Bristol. It is a retelling focussing on feminine power, folkloric horror and the fragility of the male ego. Might what we fear from across the sea, lurk in every human heart?
