Sow

Millennial Wizard Presents: **Sow** On a patch of unforgiving headland, a valley, a scraggly edge of coast somewhere, a family of women live in isolation from the outside world. Grandma, mother and the two daughters, surrounded by 16ft of barbed wire fence, to keep *them* out. The men folk. Having never known a man, they birth their daughters with the blood of a slaughtered sow. They spend their days raising these pigs, keeping themselves alive and listening to the ghost stories their grandmother tells them, of the men she knew in the distant past. Creatures they were. Cruel, monstrous things, with sharp teeth and no heart. One day, the youngest of them finds a soldier, a boy, bleeding out at the edge of their property. What follows will threaten the delicate balance of their small world, and force them to confront how easy it is, to become monstrous. This play contains: Discussion of domestic abuse.
