Marine Conservation Evening

We are delighted to invite members and their guests to a special Marine Evening on Wednesday 23rd September 2026 - an evening dedicated to the health of our seas, in the company of two of the UK's leading marine conservation charities. Our guest speakers are Philip Orwell of the Marine Conservation Society and JJ Harvey of The Reef-World Foundation, who will each share the remarkable work their organisations are doing to protect our ocean, from British coastal waters to coral reefs around the world. The Marine Conservation Society: The ocean is home to some of the most wonderous species on our planet, and, when healthy, can absorb and store carbon, protect our coasts from erosion and regulate our climate. We work with partners, communities, industry and governments to protect, conserve and restore our seas - securing today, and a better tomorrow for our ocean, people and planet. The Reef-World Foundation: The Reef-World Foundation is the leading voice on practical sustainability solutions for the scuba diving and snorkeling industry. Its work has been proven to reduce threats to coral reefs. Reef-World's vision is to make sustainable diving and snorkeling the social norm by driving positive behaviors for environmental protection through its flagship initiative - Green Fins - which is implemented in partnership with the UN Environment Programme. Green Fins provides low-cost and practical solutions to local and industry-wide environmental challenges and offers education and capacity-building assistance to empower environmental champions to implement proven coastal resource management approaches. An Evening to Savor: To complement the theme of the evening, Executive Chef Christian Wragg has created a menu for the occasion of seabass en croute prepared using sustainably sourced products. It promises to be a thoroughly enjoyable and thought-provoking evening - good food, good company, and a chance to hear first-hand how we can all play a part in securing the future of our seas.
