Volunteer Night at Food Bank
Friday Friendship Café: Volunteer Night at Foodbank! This Friday, 20 November, a group of BISC students will be volunteering at North Bristol Food Bank, helping with simple but meaningful tasks like sorting food parcels and organising supplies. It's a small act, but it makes a big difference -- both for the food bank and for the people who need. A food bank is a charity that provides free food to people who are struggling financially. Even though the UK is a developed country, millions of people still face food insecurity -- meaning they don't always have enough to eat. After COVID-19, the situation became even harder for many families due to rising living costs and job instability. North Bristol Food Bank, like BISC, is a Christian charity. It exists to serve people in need with compassion and dignity, offering practical help and hope. At BISC, we know what it's like to feel far from home, to face challenges, and to need support. Many of us have received love and care through this community -- and now we have the chance to share that love with others. Even though we may come from different backgrounds, we can still show kindness and stand with those who are struggling. This is a way to give back, to learn, and to be part of something bigger than ourselves.
