Level 3: Telling Stories

Stories and storytelling are a fundamental part of the human experience. We shape the world around us into narratives that we can understand, forming deep emotional connections to the tales that resonate with us. A keen improviser can play on this narrative instinct to craft engaging stories on the fly and leave a delighted audience asking 'How did they do that!?'. This seven-week course combines techniques inspired by legendary improviser Keith Johnstone and Pixar Animation Studios to equip students with a formidable toolkit of storytelling techniques and skills. From confidence and communication skills to knowing how to make bold choices to keep the story alive (or deliver a surprising twist ending), you'll train the narrative instincts that will grab and sustain your audience's interest.
