Take back the night! Join our 7km ride under the stars with hi-viz, lights & good vibes! Part of Cycling UK's 'My Ride, Our Right' campaign.
For too many women, the 'freedom of the road' ends at sunset. We're changing that. Join Bitton and Oldland Cycling Club (Affiliated with Cycling UK) for a night of joyful defiance. We are reclaiming the Bristol & Bath Railway Path, using our collective light to demand safer, better-connected infrastructure for every rider.
The Heritage of Liberty In 1888, our club's founders saw cycling break down social barriers. We are inspired by their efforts and the story of the Cycling Scouts of the Suffragettes who led the charge to illuminate rural areas with their message. Today, the barrier is safety. We ride in the tradition of the early suffragettes who used the bicycle to claim their space in the world. By glowing together, we make the invisible visible.
What to Expect:
- Solidarity and allyship: A supportive, inclusive atmosphere on a ride that's open to all but focused on female riders, families, and allies.
- The 'Glow' Protest: We want high-vis, high-impact! Wrap your bike in lights to show that we deserve to be seen and safe.
- The Route: A 4.5-mile guided loop where we'll highlight key areas for infrastructure improvement.
- The Goal: To prove that with the right routes, the night belongs to us too.
