The Valley that resists - a beautiful view of the No TAV movement in Italy. Talk and solidarity dinner On the weekend of the 24th-26th July, 2 Bristol comrades got a very impressive glimpse of what a long lasting and combative mass movement looks like. We were visiting comrades in Torino and the Val di Susa in northern Italy, home to a 3 decades long struggle against the hugely destructive Treno di Alta Velocita (TAV) capitalist mega project. The No TAV movement is a genuinely grassroots, mass movement involving tens of thousands of people, with a proud history of direct action and diversity of tactics. We could learn a lot from their struggle. We will give a short presentation with solidarity photos and footage from recent events and actions. There will be pizza, pasta and gelato to raise funds for No TAV defendants and prisoners. Suggested PWYC donation of £5-£10.
