Threads: Movement Workshop
Join Threads for a welcoming, collaborative movement workshop designed for all levels of experience. Whether you're taking your first steps into movement or looking to deepen an existing practice, you'll be invited to explore creativity, connection and self-expression at your own pace. Inspired by Polly Braden: Against the Tide and Jonathan Baldock: Held, reflect on themes of access to the arts, loneliness and storytelling through movement, mark-making and conversation. During the workshop you will: - Warm up with accessible exercises suitable for a range of physical abilities. - Explore contemporary dance practices through playful movement activities, adapted to your own pace and comfort. - Discover your body's unique choreography and ways of moving. - Connect with others through collaborative improvisation, creating a short movement piece inspired by the exhibitions. - Take time for creative reflection through conversation and mark-making in a supportive, inclusive environment. This workshop is for you if… - You're curious about exploring movement in a relaxed, non-judgemental space. - Dancing brings you joy. - You've always wanted to try dance but haven't known where to begin. - You love moving but prefer improvisation over learning choreography. - You're an experienced dancer looking to expand your creative practice. This workshop is open to all ages and abilities. Please arrive at Arnolfini's front desk 5 minutes before the 11.30am start time.
