Workshop: Babbers

Our popular weekly baby sensory workshop! For the most up-to-date information, please see the Headfirst page. Due to demand we are now running two identical sessions each Monday morning – one at 10am and one at 11am. Babbers combines fun, creativity, and developmental activities to support your baby’s early growth. The sessions are carefully designed to stimulate your baby’s senses and encourage curiosity while you make lasting memories together. Expect storytelling, theatre, singing, silliness and sensory activities! Every session includes a moment for parents and carers to centre themselves and unwind, as well as opportunities to get to know each other. Our theatre cafe is open after each session exclusively for the members of babbers – a great way to get to know other parents post-session. Babbers was set up by Rosalie, a facilitator who has been with acta since 2013 and after a year of maternity leave she came back inspired to set up Babbers. Her aim was to create a space where parents could have a laugh and be a little bit silly – something she knows is very welcome as a parent to a young child! Babbers is currently run by Sara, another parent to young children who has worked at acta since 2017. Every week Sara raids acta’s costume and prop store to inspire new wild and wacky adventures, with a combination of modern-day music, we advise you to expect the unexpected and come prepared for a giggle. Less Rock-a-bye baby: more Ice Ice Baby! In the past terms the Babbers enjoyed: flying on broomsticks, dancing at the disco and exploring the underground world – where will the next term take them? Our sessions are designed for ages 0 – 1 years old.
